YOUTH CHORUS

The North Kingstown Community Youth Chorus, started in 1991, is directed by Heather Skidds, our choral director and is assisted by Barbara Valois.  Children who sing with the Youth Chorus learn proper singing techniques, rhythm training and performance etiquette. Their learning experience is directed by a professionally trained and experienced staff.

The North Kingstown Youth Chorus is excited to announce that we will hold another Virtual Season for Spring 2021 with online rehearsals and virtual choir performances for students in grades 3-8 from all communities.  Online rehearsals will include voice training, music fundamentals, and musical preparation for virtual choir recordings.  Rehearsals for the Youth Chorus will begin on February 2, 2021 at 5:30pm on Zoom.

The Virtual Youth Chorus is open to children from all communities in grades 3-8.  The registration fee is $30.  Rehearsals for our virtual season will be held on Zoom.  Auditions and North Kingstown residency not required.

For more information call Heather Skidds, director, at (401)-573-7564 or email at hskidds@gmail.com

All students in grades 3-8 are invited to join in the fun!
Spring 2021 Virtual Youth Chorus Registration

Youth Chorus Video Premiere

The NK Youth Chorus is proud to present their Holiday virtual chorus recording of "Solfege Santa" by Cristi Cary Miller. The youth chorus features singers in grades 3-8 who have been rehearsing and recording remotely for this virtual chorus production. Listen to these beautiful young voices directed by Heather Skidds as they sing this fun song about Santa's choir at the North Pole.
The North Kingstown Youth Chorus presents its virtual chorus production of  Peace Like a River on Facebook and on our YouTube channel. This virtual chorus recording of the traditional folk song, arranged and directed by Heather Skidds, is a beautiful reminder of the peace, love and joy in our hearts and in our world seen through the eyes of children singing in harmony. The youth chorus has singers in grades 3-8 and has been rehearsing and recording remotely. Some members also perform sign language with the song.
